JOYCE LIN
President

Joyce is a transportation design engineer at AECOM focusing on highway projects around the Bay Area. She grew up in Seattle and received her B.S. in civil engineering from Cal Poly SLO, where she was first involved with ASCE. She joined YMF to network with engineers, promote the civil engineering field through student outreach, and give back to the community. In her free time, Joyce enjoys hiking and playing tennis and basketball. 

KHUSHBOO PATEL, PE
Vice President

Khushboo is an Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer for Kimley-Horn. A transplant from Florida, Khushboo studied at the University of Central Florida. Besides her work, she is interested in crafting, sewing, calligraphy, volleyball, and watching basketball and football.

HO-SHING CHAU, PE
Treasurer

Ho-Shing is a structural project engineer at Brown and Caldwell in Walnut Creek. He was born in Hong Kong, but he grew up in the Bay Area. He left the Bay for a short while to pursue his B.S. and M.S. in civil (structural) engineering at UCLA, where he was actively involved in the student chapter. Besides work and his involvement in SF YMF, Ho-Shing spends his time hiking and perfecting spaghetti sauces.

KAREN WANG, PE
Secretary

Karen is a structural design engineer at FTF Engineering in San Francisco. She grew up in Texas and graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering before pursuing her M.S. at UC Berkeley. She was introduced to ASCE at Northwestern, where she was involved in the Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe project teams. In her free time, Karen enjoys hiking, traveling, and finding the best ramen spots in the area. 

VIMBAI ANDA
Marketing Director

Vimbai is a site civil engineer who is passionate about infrastructure. A Zimbabwe native and graduate of Stanford, Vimbai studied civil engineering and was introduced to ASCE her sophomore year. She actively seeks ways to engage, inspire and connect younger folks to opportunities in the built environment industry. In her free time, Vimbai likes to read, visit aquariums, watch and sing-along-to musicals.

ZAHRA SARWARY, PE
Historian

Zahra is a Transportation Engineer at the California Department of Transportation. She is a Bay Area native and received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University, where she held various officer position roles with the ASCE Student Chapter. Zahra very much enjoys her profession, and is excited to give back to the Civil Engineering and Bay Area community through involvement with YMF. 

ANDRE LA ROSA
Webmaster

Andre is a project engineer at Clark Construction, as part of its western region Civil division. A Bay Area native, Andre graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He was previously involved in ASCE through Concrete Canoe. In his free time, Andre enjoys snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking, and golfing.

ESTEBAN MARTINEZ, PE
Professional Development Chair

Esteban is a transportation engineer at WSP, specializing in ITS and tolling applications. Esteban is new to the Bay Area and is from Tempe, Arizona (Go Sun Devils!). He enjoys hiking, playing guitar, and watching both real football and American football.

KIANA YAMAT
Social Chair

Kiana is a Design Engineer at BKF Engineers working in Land Development. She graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Before joining SF YMF, her involvement with ASCE began as a Freshman and continued as Concrete Canoe Captain to Student Chapter President. Her idea of fun is traveling and planning her next ski or snorkeling trip.

ANMOL MATHUR
Philanthropy Chair

Anmol is a project engineer at Rudolph and Sletten with a background in civil engineering and construction management from Cal Poly, SLO. A Bay Area native, Anmol has had a passion for philanthropy since junior high school and focuses her community services in the areas of education, human welfare, and health. She enjoys reading, volunteering (surprise, surprise) and occasionally spending her Saturdays binge watching Law & Order SVU. 

JASON HALLARE, PE
Past President

Jason is a Senior Engineer at the City of South San Francisco working on City and Private projects. Born and raised in the Bay Area, he earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering and began his involvement with ASCE at San Jose State University. He joined YMF to stay connected and help contribute to ASCE. Outside of the office, Jason spends his time with fishing, backpacking, photography, and traveling.

VINCENT ENCINAS
SFSU LIASON

Vince is a Project Engineer at Saarman Construction. Born and raised in San Francisco, he recently graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He was introduced to SF YMF as a student, and now as a professional member, he wishes to share the benefits he received through SF YMF to current students. In his free time, Vince enjoys competitive street dancing, martial arts, dad jokes, and being a comic book fanboy.
