Our December GBM was held at Arup with a guest presentation on blast engineering by Deborah Blass. Members learned about the extra considerations that are taken for the design of buildings with a high potential for impact loads. The meeting wrapped up with a White Elephant Gift Exchange!
Later that month, on Friday the 13th of December, 13 members of SF YMF met up at Axeventures in Berkeley for a fun social where we had a friendly axe-throwing competition. Members enjoyed the opportunity to socialize with other civil engineers in SF and learn a unique skill.
