WASTEWATER PROJECT ENGINEER
Make a splash in Summit Engineering’s Water/Wastewater Engineering Division! We are seeking an experienced project engineer with education in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or other related technical engineering disciplines.
In the heart of Sonoma County in Santa Rosa, CA, our firm works primarily with wineries, breweries, food and beverage facilities, resorts, municipal systems, residences, and commercial projects. Our Water/Wastewater division provides engineering design for many diverse wastewater processes such as waste to energy, high-rate wastewater treatment including membrane bioreactors, anaerobic digestion, and nutrient control and recovery as well as water treatment systems including filtration, disinfection, reverse osmosis, and resource recovery to reduce water /energy usage and pollutant discharges.
The wastewater project engineer position offers professional growth, including an opportunity to develop into project management if desired. The project engineer will be responsible for specific engineering and design tasks on project teams, utilizing your education, training, and experience to solve engineering problems.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
BS or MS Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or other related technical discipline.
3+ years of experience showing successively increased responsibility.
Aptitude/experience with fundamentals of micro-biological processes, kinetics, and water-wastewater chemistry.
Equipment design experience including pumps, blowers, compressors, and aeration equipment.
Operations/system start-up experience is a plus.
Strong math/modeling skills to perform to mass balances.
Experience using AutoCAD and /or Civil 3D.
Ability to create P&ID drawings, understand controls integration, and write control narratives.
A California Professional Engineering license (P.E.), or in the process of obtaining.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without OPT or visa; and possess a valid Driver’s License.
